Product placement

Short films are created by small independent film companies and so are usually shown at film festivals and conventions. Such festivals include Cannes film festival, BFI London film festival, Cambridge film festival and Edinburgh film festival. These events allow small companies to show their product to large audiences and get recognition for their work. At most of these events awards are given to exceptionally good films and this Can give small companies enough attention to link with larger companies to create full feature length films.

Sometimes Short films are shown before full feature length films such as Pixar animations. This is a very good way of allowing large audiences to view smaller companies work as people do not have to pay to watch the films. The films cannot be bought from the same distributor as mainstream films such as HMV or superstores such as TESCOs and so they are harder to get hold of however some distributors can be found online or can be seen for free on sites such as Youtube. Although Placing your product on Youtube will not generate any revenue it means that small companies are not taken advantage of in large contracts and it is easy to get audience feedback helping them for future reference and so this is the method I will use to distribute my short film.
